Dos and don’ts of pregnancy leads to conceiving a healthy baby child in your life but it is not guarantee which gender it will be. Since the Y-chromosome (boy) sperm is more fragile and doesn’t live long, lifestyle measures are more applicable to conceive a boy rather than a girl. These are a few things that you can do in conceiving a boy:

o The male partner should wear comfortable, cooler underwear such as boxers instead of briefs to avoid overheating of the testes. Heat can play a role in lowering sperm count especially to the fragile Y-chromosome sperm, which have lesser count than X-chromosome.

o Avoid smoking, drugs and alcohol. For male partner especially, since the Y-chromosome sperm needs to be abundant to increase your chances of having a boy, smoking should be avoided as it can easily kills off the fragile Y-chromosome sperm.

o For male partner, drinks a cup of caffeinated beverage such as coffee or soda before intercourse as it makes the Y-chromosome sperm more energetic.

o Researchers have found that eating a higher amount of calories has increased chances of having a baby boy. Put on a little weight and eat well. Be sure to eat enough of all the necessary nutrients though, as too much or too little of anything is never good.
